SAN FRANCISCO — September 30, 2026 — Competera, an AI pricing solutions provider for retail, today announced new editions of its two flagship products. The updated Pricing Platform and Competitive Data are designed to serve enterprise and mid-market retail’s main use cases within one workspace, from competitive market intelligence to price-led optimization, or full demand-led optimization.
Competera has spent nine years building one of the most advanced pricing solutions.
“For years we have argued for a different way of running pricing: stop encoding the market in manual rules, understand what actually drives sales, and let the algorithms do the work they are better at. We built that, and retailers in more than 20 countries price with it today," said Alex Halkin, CEO and founder of Competera.
"We also learned something harder. That level of optimization asks a lot of an organization: years of sales history clean enough to train the models, and teams retrained to guide optimization instead of executing it. The feedback we hear most often is that our approach is the most advanced retailers have seen on the market, and that they are not ready for it yet.
So we built a way in. A retailer can now start with Competera at any level of pricing maturity, with every existing use case covered, and move to demand-led optimization when or if the business is ready. What stays the same at every stage is the technology: AI-native from day one, best in class at every step of the journey.”
Competera Pricing Platform is now available in two editions:
- Adaptive AI: Statistical engine built on price elasticity to predict how a price change affects sales, with smart segmentation classifying every SKU by role, inventory health, and sales velocity. The engine needs only three months of transaction history to start.
- Contextual AI: Neural-network engine that reads 20+ demand-driving factors, from elasticity of demand to inventory health and lifecycle stage, to recommend the optimal price. The model requires two years of transaction history and comes with an 85% forecast-accuracy commitment.
Each edition is designed to meet different pricing needs. Adaptive AI offers a no-code visual rule builder, campaign management, guided templates, and other tools to help retailers automate pricing workflows with built-in conflict detection across pricing rules. It is right for organizations that trust automated pricing, but still want it to be grounded in well-defined pricing rules.
Contextual AI suits retailers ready to steer by outcome instead of by a set of pricing rules. The engine takes commercial goals and guardrails as inputs, first determining whether a price should move at all, then working out by how much. The edition is right for organizations whose pricing logic has grown too complex to manage with rules alone.

Following the same direction, Competitive Data by Competera now also offers two packages, giving retailers flexibility to choose the level of market intelligence support they need:
- Starter: Pay-per-use competitive data billed only for collected, on-time data points. No volume commitment, full transparency into every match and scanning cycle.
- Enterprise: SLA-controlled competitive data with guaranteed 95% match coverage and 95% match accuracy, a dedicated Matching Quality Control Manager, multi-country data consistency management, and priority scan scheduling.
Both products share one workspace and one data layer. Competitive Data feeds directly into both Pricing Platform editions, so the market intelligence a retailer collects from day one becomes one of the key inputs the pricing engine works with, with nothing to re-collect or re-integrate later. Moving between Competera editions means no re-implementation. Market data, product segmentation, pricing rules, and campaign setup carry forward as they are.

“The retailers we speak with are not looking for the simplest tool or the most complex one. They are looking for the right solution for their current pricing needs, with confidence that it will still be the right choice a year from now," said Andreas Lorenz, Senior Vice President Retail at Competera.
"That is what we can now offer, clearly and from the first conversation.”
Competera works with more than 50 enterprise retailers across 28 countries. Clients see an average gross profit uplift of approximately 7%, proven through multiple A/B-tested pilots with commercial KPIs agreed upfront. The company maintains a 100% pilot success rate.
“Best-in-class technology should not be reserved for retailers who already have a very high maturity level," said Olena Wehlisch, Head of Marketing at Competera.
"We removed what was standing in the way. Retailers can run the pricing they need today and upgrade whenever it makes sense, without starting over.”
